THANKSGIVING 2009

As Ernie and I played hosts for Thanksgiving, we were overjoyed to be blessed w/family, good fun and lots of laughs!!!!

remember you can clik on ea. image to enlarge to full screen size!

being that I was the photographer and was only in these 2 photos.,
ernie grabbed the camera and got me in there. Thank honey!!

WELL IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I'VE WRITTEN IN TO THE BLOG.
BUSY AS A BEE W/THE HOLIDAY SEASONS.
THANKSGIVING WAS WONDERFUL AS MOM AND DAD CAME UP TO SPEND 10 DAYS WITH US. IT WAS A TRUE BLAST..AND MY MAIN CONCERN WAS THAT THEY ENJOYED

THEMSELVES AND GET PLENTY OF REST.....IN WHICH THEY DID.THE HOUSE WAS CONSTANTLY BUSY W-COOKING IN THE KITCHEN, CARS BREAKING DOWN, PRIMO TRYING TO TAKE OVER-JUMPING ON EVERYONE, WORK SCHEDULES, SHOPPING...AND ALL THE NECESSARY HOLIDAY "CHAOS"....BUT IT WAS A GOOD CHAOS. THERE WERE PLENTY OF LAUGHS AND GOOD SMELLS IN THE HOUSE AND
ON THANKSGIVING DAY WE HAD 15 IN OUR HOME...WHICH CONSISTED OF FAMILY!!!!

mom, dad, in-laws, brothers, sister in law, Primo, me/ernie, nephews, niece and Pinky and Arnold stopped by for dinner... it was great!!!!!!!!!!
On Thanksgiving day, Primo was beside himself...as not only was it HIS first holiday season/event...but it was the first time since he's been here where it was this many people in the house ALL AT ONCE. He was tooooo thriLLED. He's really good about not peeing in the house anymore. we have no problem w/that...but on that day when everyone arrived (mostly at once)...he was jumping, walking...and "Sprinkling". it was tooooooo funny. We were like I guessed he's alloweD. ----- I rigged my office as his 'hangout' w/his kennel and blanket/pillows... so, we could have more walk around room in the kitchen which is where he primarily sleeps.-----As we all gathered around the table for prayer....and Primo was behind his baby gate off in the kitchen....he didn't bark, he didn't jumped...he laid down and waited for us to finish... It was hilarious.

DINNER:
sweet potatoes-ham-turkey-fresh cranberry relish---fresh salad--fruit punch, Ice Tea---Jumbalaya---green beans---potatoe salad----2 stuffings (one w/oysters, one w/out)homemade rolls.....sweet potatoe pies---pumpkin pies---apple pie.

PRIMO- 5 mos. old

Primo being spoiled by daddy. In our kitchen. 11.19.09.
Primo just turned 5 mos. old yesterday..and growing like wildfire.
although he's quite large.....I was randomly going thru images of Conan at 5 mos., and he was bigger than Primo around this time......
but PRIMO
is definitely catching up FAST. Just look at his feet...which (in this case) are larger than Conan's.

Hello everyone, It's been awhile since I've posted updates, etc. ;-)
PRIMO is getting bigger by the second..and more active and even more frisky. But we definitey have a routine down...and he's very smart. The most exciting part for me is that he sleeps straight thru the nite..and when ernie gets up at 4:30 am (primo used to get up too)...but now he just looks at him..and proceeds to fall back asleep. haha.

then, around 7:30-7:45 am, he's tossing and clicking his toenails on the wall, in anticipation of me getting up to let him out. He sleeps in the kitchen along w/his kennel (crate)...and he goes in and out as he pleases which is cool. But overnite he mostly stays out..and on his pillow that I bought...which he is totally outgrowing.

after I stagger up and remove the baby gate that blocks our bedroom....and of course, I must go to the bathroom first (haha) then, I let him out.., he comes back in, eats his morning meal....lies down for about 5 minutes...and then is in my face "talking and howling" to me, to let me know it's time for our morning walk/run. At first he didn't like the leash and harness--now, he can't wait for us to head for the front door, put it on, make sure my treats are in my R pocket..and then we go out for our walk.

Since he's still only 4 mos. (will be 5 on the 18th).....I only walk him on our block only. There are alot of people with dogs, and etc. in our neighborhood...and as you can imagine...a few of them are pit bulls. But for the most part, it's been pretty good so far. Primo has said hi to many folks in recent mornings...and even with him on the leash.....some people choose to cross the street when they see him from afar. "oh well". I told Ernie that when PRIMO becomes full grown (which isn't for long)...then he's taking over w/the walks.

PRIMO is sooo strong....that he pulls me sometimes, not all the time...but mostly when he wants to pick up and run back to the house w/me trekking behind him. That's cool...but,.. I'm not a runner. I mean, I do like the fact that he knows where his home is..and he loves to run. but, I definitely have to invest in some better running NIKE'S.

He is getting very heavy and tall and I'm amazed on how his ears turned out.. They are perfect from cropping. when he had the stitches out back in September..they were crooked and ugly and uneven..and I was a bit concerned and disgusted... I just knew the doctor/vet didn't know what he was doing...but Ernie kept telling me....that the doctor said they looked good and were in good shape, etc. I was like...."WHAT EARS ARE YOU LOOKING AT".... but over time..they've
evened out..and perk up and look simply beautiful... So, HE REALLLLLY is starting to look like his elders. It's amazing.

He loves being in my office..and has take a strong hold on my office chair. So, I've had to cover it up w/a tablecloth so he won't mess it up. and, he's in a severe "JUMPING" stage. he loves to jump on everyone and everything...so, we're really working on controlling that. We want him to jump when it's called for but not everytime he sees someone or on our kitchen island. He's got aloooootttt of energy. right now, as I type.....he's right behind me taking his mid morning nap...in my chair....ASLEEP..and SNORING.

oh, yeah, he 'watches' tv at nite. it's too funny. but when I leave the house for work or errands...we guard him in the kitchen behind the baby gate (but he has the whole kitchen) to himself...and he listens to the BOOMERANG network (cartoons) on TV and sleeps until we return. We set up his kennel, his toys (soft ones) & we put all the dangerous ones away when we leave (such as his bones, squeakey toys..and sticks)..the house. and he's good to go.

Primo has taken a severe liking to mulch. He likes to eat it and mostly chews it. At first we were concerned about his insides...but he's doing fine and all of his "packages" if you know what I mean....are uh, let's say..... "healthy". So, he's all good.

I mainly am sticking with organic/natural dog biscuits and treats. Trying to stay away from corn, wheat, flour and sugars...etc. and it seems to be making him feel pretty good. He's going to be HUGE ANYWAY...so, all of the unnecessary things they put in treats...aren't good for him.

CARROTS:... conan use to be crazzyyy about carrots, Primo, not so much. He'll eat them as a last resort. or just last week...ernie said why don't you try cooking them w/a lil water in the skillet and heat them up. so, i did...and I diced them up..... and there you go.. he loves them...but only that way. Man, talk about 'finicky'.

Primo is all done w/his numerous puppy shots (including rabies), etc. and is only his once a month heartworm preventative..so, we're really happy about that. He's set until next year.

So, that's the latest......oh, not sure of his weight but when he had his last set of shots on the 9th of October, he was 41 lbs. so, he's gotta be close to 50 or more by now.

here are some mini videos of him outside.......... enjoy
